Jackfruit · Kampala ·Uganda

Jackfruit looks like something out of a Dr. Seuss book, tastes like a mixture of Juicyfruit gum and Starburst candy, and can weigh up to 100 lbs! This insane-ly delicious fruit is such a mess to prepare, but after our first bite we were all hooked. It is the national fruit of Bangladesh (Wikipedia). Looking back, I should have made photos of the jackfruit tree, as[...]

Mhairi & Matthew · The Island House

I am happy to finally share some of my favorite pictures from Mhairi and Matthew's wedding. They had a beautiful Scottish / lowcountry wedding this past spring at The Island House, which is just minutes away from downtown. The lovely ladies at A Charleston Bride were there to make the day run smooth as silk. See the feature on The Wedding Row.

Jet lag

Accepting the call to go and photograph our church mission trip was an easy decision, but now the hard part of processing everything begins. I made around 2,000 photographs over a two-week period and I feel that there are at least ten different stories to tell within. Jet lag has been taking its toll on my body this week; so for now... please enjoy this beautiful [...]

Adonai

Hello from Africa! We  arrived safe and sound, and are spending two nights in Kampala to adjust to the timezone and prepare for our mission in the western region of Uganda. The food is excellent and the people we meet all have wonderful stories to tell. I will post updates more often on Instagram and Facebook, so if you're keen to see the latest and greatest fo[...]

Last Dance

Take risks, shoot slow... And even slower shutter speeds. Much more from this wedding coming soon!

Sailing

We somehow find a way to spend every Memorial day on the water, but it usually involves inner-tubes, a couple tasty beverages and floating down a river. That just wouldn't do here in Charleston.... so we hopped aboard a friend's sailboat and cruised around the Charleston harbor. Goodtimes! purchase prints here

Touring Charleston

It has almost been a year since we moved from Atlanta to Charleston; and I can't really think of a better place to call home. No wonder Charleston has been named one of the top 25 cities in the world, as well as USA's #1 city for the third year in a row. Pretty much all of these photographs were made within a short bike ride from our home. Charleston is also a pre[...]

Claire & Michael's Rehearsal Dinner

Rehearsal dinner's are always a joy to document, as this is where two families share life with those closest to their hearts. Claire & Michael, thank you for the opportunity to witness and photograph your story. Your rehearsal dinner at the Pinnacle Club was spectacular.

Rachel & David ·Charleston

We had a great time walking through all of the little side streets of downtown Charleston. These are just a few of my favorite pictures from their wonderful day. More Charleston weddings coming soon!

Timelessness

It is nice to know that timeless photography will never go out of style. I was sharing this image with a potential client today and received compliments on it.  Made in 2010, so it's certainly not what I'd consider old, but the photo trends of today will likely become the photography regrets of tomorrow. Jumping photos, selective color, blacks that are blue, the l[...]
