The off-season of a wedding photographer is an interesting one. Things are slower, colder and you have a lot more time to have free time. Logo ideas fly around in your head. You begin to meet your clients for the next year’s of pictures. Engagement and bridal sessions slide in around February and by the end of March you get excited because the season is swinging up again.
At least that’s how it’s been for me. I’ve learned that I have a certain style of photos. I’m a purist. I’m not going to do selective color, or half sepia crazy photoshop actions. That just isn’t me. If you’ve come across music on this website, I’m sorry. I was weak and I thought oh it’d be cool to put music on the site.
All the pictures below have been taken within the past week. Yesterday I was walking out the door and my roommate Taylor asked me what I was going to take pictures of (we were headed to a cookout pretty soon, thus his inquiry)… and I said ‘nothing.’ The fact of the matter is I indeed took these pictures for something. For what exactly I’ve yet to put into words. I can’t not take pictures. I even bought a smaller camera so I could take pictures a lot more often. However, these were not taken with the Canon G10, but with the Canon 5d.
Anyway, since I can take pictures much better than I can write, check out the photos below. With downtown as my backyard all I have to do is walk outside and look around. It keeps things fresh, real, gritty, ghetto, hood, whatever you want to call it.
Also, you can follow my twitter here. I’m offering a free photoshoot to anyone who can come up with a smashing logo for my business. I’ve tried my hand at Illustrator and it just doesn’t click for me. Help me help you.
